Welcome to the home of the SSN 777 Club
For many North Carolina residents, it may come as a pleasant surprise to learn that there is an active-duty USS North Carolina that has been patrolling international waters since it was commissioned in 2008. The current USS North Carolina (SSN 777), dubbed by the crew as the Tarheel Boat, is a Virginia-class fast-attack submarine. Commissioned on May 3, 2008, in Wilmington, its home-port is Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
The SSN 777 Club supports the morale and welfare of the crew and families of the USS NORTH CAROLINA, fosters contact between the boat and the namesake state, and enhances the heritage and history of the command through preservation and dissemination.
